Within the context of the European project CATALISI, EY is conducting a predictive study on the soft skills that are necessary for PhD students/ researchers –or more in general young researchers - to be successful in the labour market.
CATALISI is a European Union co-funded project focused on the support given to Higher Education Institutions for their institutional transformation through the adoption of tailor-made acceleration services. These include training and skills development, interaction with the market, living labs, counseling, mentoring and coaching, enhancement of the digitization of Higher Education Institutions and support in accessing Open Science (For more information, please visit CATALISI – Catalysation of institutional transformations of Higher Education Institutions)
Within the framework of the Design, Coaching and Sustainability Work Package (WP3) of the CATALISI project, we, as EY team, are working to develop a predictive study. Our study uses a mix of online surveys and in-depth interviews, combined with advanced statistical and semantic analysis techniques. Through this, we aim to predict future skills needs and offer recommendations on skills development for the benefit of all young researchers and universities.
On this note, we think you as part of the MSCA-NET project can play a pivotal role in contributing to the institutional transformation of European higher education institutions, by addressing common and big societal challenges such as gender equality, inclusiveness, equity and recognition of qualifications & research careers. Your inputs will be useful when developing the predictive study because they will help us foresee the transformation which is necessary for higher education institutions to be the universities of the future with a structural, systemic and sustainable impact. This, by also enabling PhD students and researchers to be equipped with the skills they need to be prepared for the jobs of tomorrow in a fast-changing society.
