Announcement of the Head of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology 23 June 2023.

on concluding the submission of documents for competency enhancement courses under the task "Skills up! - courses increasing competences of doctoral candidates at IDS" within the project "Curriculum for advanced doctoral education & training - CADET Academy of TUL" carried out within the framework of the STER NAWA programme, for doctoral candidates of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of TUL in the academic year 2022/2023

On the basis of a survey conducted among PhD candidates at IDS TUL regarding interest in the above-mentioned task, analysis of its results and the lack of further submissions of proposals for funding of skills enhancing courses, the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of TUL announces that it will be concluding the task "Skills up! - courses increasing competences of doctoral candidates at IDS”. Acceptance of applications will be closed as of June 29, 2023.

Skills up! Courses for PhD candidates

NAWA provides the opportunity for additional development for IDS TUL doctoral candidates and improve their competences as part of the STER program.

Task "Skills up! - courses increasing competences of doctoral candidates at IDS" supports the process of educating Polish and foreign doctoral candidates of IDS by co-financing courses from the best training centers. The task assume complicity in the MOOC formula courses and will be implemented until the financing is exhausted or until the second half of the year 2023.

The main objective of the task is to provide access to courses increasing the skills of doctoral candidates educate at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of the University of Lodz (IDS TUL). The course will be delivered remotely, through massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) platforms. The courses will be selected by IDS TUL PhD candidates from the offer of renowned research centers around the world (among the 50 best universities according to the list of https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2022).

The courses will be selected by IDS TUL doctoral candidates individually accordance to their needs related to education at IDS TUL. The knowledge and skills acquired by IDS TUL PhD candidates will ultimately support them in their initial stages of independent scientific work. The courses will contribute to the acquisition of valued competences by IDS TUL doctoral candidates and will enable to obtain valuable certificates that will help stand out in the scientific community. Funding is planned in the amount of 50 $ / 50 € for one course for one person.

The call for proposals is scheduled for acad. year 2022/2023, the regulations and all necessary documents will be successively made available on the project website.
