Regulations for the implementation of the module "Hot Topics in Science and Technology" concerning the organisation of seminars and lectures for doctoral candidates and academic teachers employed in the group of research or research and teaching staff of the University
§ 1
1. The aim of the "Hot Topics in Science and Technology" programme, hereafter referred to as the programme, is to strengthen the position, visibility and research potential of Lodz University of Technology internationally.
2. As part of the programme, Lodz University of Technology organises seminars led by distinguished Polish and foreign scientists for doctoral candidates and academic staff employed in the research or research and teaching group in each of the disciplines represented at Lodz University of Technology.
3. Members of the Council for Science of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School, representing the scientific disciplines within which the seminars are organised, are responsible for the implementation of the programme.
§ 2
1. Doctoral candidates of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology are obliged to attend seminars of at least their discipline. If Doctoral Candidates are not able to attend a seminar of their discipline due to fortuitous reasons or being on sick leave, they are obliged to attend a seminar of another discipline.
2. Doctoral candidates on mobility, during the mobility period, are exempted from attending the seminar.
3. As part of the programme, academic disciplines are required to organise at least two seminars per semester, including at least one seminar with a foreign speaker. The speaker should be a person with a significant academic record.
4. Seminars may be held either face-to-face or via remote communication means.
5. At the end of the seminar, the unit organising the seminar is required to forward to the Chair of the Council for Science of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School confirmation of the seminar (for each seminar organised within the Hot Topics in Science and Technology series).
§ 3
1. Information about the seminar is prepared by members of the Council for Science of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School and announced on the faculties' website, the university's Facebook page and distributed with messages via the WIKAMP platform and perhaps other electronic communication means.
2. The seminar announcement should be prepared in Polish and English according to the templates attached in Appendix 1.
3. For giving a lecture, the Speaker shall receive a congratulatory letter, a specimen of which is attached in Appendix 2 to these Regulations.
§ 4
1. In matters not covered by these Regulations, the provisions of the law and the findings of the competent bodies of Lodz University of Technology shall apply.
2. The regulations shall enter into force on 28 February 2023.
