on the announcement of the results of the competition for NAWA scholarships, 1st edition, from the Project entitled: „IMPROVE – International Mission to Promote Research and Optimal Values in Education” implemented as part of STER NAWA programme, task 1, for the best foreign doctoral candidates and the best doctoral candidates from Poland implementing doctoral projects in international cooperation as part of the international doctoral programme in the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at Lodz University of Technology

At the meeting on 16 October 2025, after considering the applications, acting on the basis of the Regulations of Participation in the task “International science leaders” for the best foreign doctoral candidates and the best doctoral candidates from Poland implementing doctoral projects in international cooperation as part of the international doctoral programme, in particular aimed at obtaining a joint degree or multiple degree as a part of the project entitled: „IMPROVE – International Mission to Promote Research and Optimal Values in Education” the NAWA scholarship Commitee

Announcement on the planned launch of the call for applications for the NAWA scholarship

Announcement
of the Head of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School
of Lodz University of Technology of June 2, 2025.

on the planned launch
of the call for applications for the NAWA scholarship under the project titled: "IMPROVE - International Mission to Promote Research
and Optimal Values in Education" implemented as part of the NAWA STER programme,
task 1 "International science leaders", for the best foreign doctoral candidates
and the best doctoral candidates from Poland implementing doctoral projects in international cooperation as part of the international doctoral programme,
in particular aimed at obtaining a joint degree or multiple degree

The project is implemented by Lodz University of Technology under an agreement with the National Agency for Academic Exchange and financed by NAWA.

The main objective of the Program is to systematically support the internationalization of doctoral schools in every aspect, i.e. from the development of the mobility of doctoral candidates through the creation of an international dimension of schools, cooperation with foreign partners, improvement of the quality of education, to building the image of an international doctoral school and acquiring foreign doctoral candidates.

The NAWA scholarship may be awarded to an Applicant who meets the following criteria:

implements education at IDS TUL (i.e. the training at IDS TUL is not suspended in accordance with Article 204 (3) of the Act and §10 of the Regulations of IDS TUL);
has an Individual Research Plan (IRP) submitted and approved by the relevant Discipline Council, in accordance with the IDS TUL Regulations;
does not receive support from other sources (to the same extent or similar to that possible under the project) that would result in double financing of expenditure;
prepares a doctoral dissertation in a foreign language – English*;
implements a doctoral project in international cooperation as part of an international doctoral programme, in particular aimed at obtaining a joint degree or a multiple degree

The NAWA scholarship is PLN 5,000 gross-gross per month and will be paid for a period of 3 months in the academic year 2025/2026. A total of 10 doctoral students, selected through an open competition, will receive the scholarship.

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the task documentation, including the regulations and its appendices, and to prepare for submitting your application. It is also worth expanding your scientific achievements, as this is one of the key criteria in the evaluation of your application.

Regarding the deadlines for submitting documents for the NAWA scholarship
from the project titled: “IMPROVE - International Mission for the Promotion of Research
and Optimal Values in Education” implemented under the STER NAWA program,
task 1 “International Leaders in Science,” for the best foreign doctoral candidates
and the best doctoral candidates from Poland carrying out doctoral projects in international cooperation as part of an international doctoral program, in particular those aiming to obtain a joint degree or multiple degree
(1^st edition - academic year 2025/2026)

The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at Lodz University of Technology would like to announce the start of recruitment for the best foreign doctoral candidates and the best doctoral candidates from Poland who are carrying out doctoral projects in international cooperation as part of an international doctoral program, in particular those aiming to obtain a joint degree or multiple degree on a NAWA scholarship in the project titled: “IMPROVE”, implemented by Lodz University of Technology as part of the STER programme – internationalization of doctoral schools – Call 2024.

The project is implemented by Lodz University of Technology under an agreement with the National Agency for Academic Exchange and financed by NAWA.

RECRUITMENT STAGES	DEADLINES
Submission of Applications by Doctoral Candidates and formal verification of applications	from October 2 to October 9, 2025
Submission of supplements by Doctoral Candidates	until October 16, 2025.
Publication of the results on the IDS TUL website/informing the Candidates about the committee's decision	until October 31, 2025.

Changes to the schedule are permitted. All updates will be published on the IDS TUL website on an ongoing basis.

If the pool of places is not filled during the first recruitment period, additional recruitment may be organized.

It is permissible not to award a NAWA scholarship in accordance with §4(2) of the rules of participation in the task.

Documents should be submitted to the IDS TUL Office: 116, Żeromskiego St., 90-543 Lodz, building A33 210 in paper form, on a colour printout, completely filled in with all required attachments or sent electronically to the following e-mail address: isd@adm.p.lodz.pl with an annotation "NAWA scholarship".
