Respect, equality and safety at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology
Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology (IDS TUL) supports the activities of Lodz University of Technology aimed at creating a research and working environment based on mutual respect, equality and respect for the dignity of every individual. Lodz University of Technology observes an Internal Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Bullying Policy, introduced by Ordinance No. 25/2024 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology.
What is mobbing?
Mobbing means actions or behaviours concerning an employee/doctoral candidate or directed against them, involving persistent and long-term harassment, bullying or intimidation, causing them to have a lowered assessment of their professional usefulness, and leading to or intended to lead to humiliation or ridicule, isolation or exclusion from the team of co-workers.
What is discrimination?
Discrimination means unfair and biased differentiation of a person or persons on the basis of a personal characteristic, such as sex, age, disability, race, sexual orientation and gender identity, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, trade union membership, or period or scope of employment.
Discrimination is behaviour resulting in a person or group of people being treated differently, usually to their disadvantage and in a harmful way. Such actions are unjustified and based on stereotypes or prejudice. Discrimination may be direct or indirect, and may also take the form of harassment or sexual harassment.
Where to report a problem?
A doctoral candidate who believes that behaviour towards them or towards other people was a form of discrimination, harassment or mobbing has the right to submit a report to the Committee for Combating Discrimination and Mobbing through the relevant Ombudsman for Equality:

Additionally, Tomasz Grzyb, MSc, tomasz.grzyb@dokt.p.lodz.pl, who represents doctoral candidates in the Gender Equality Plan Team, may provide information support and indicate the appropriate procedures in matters related to equal treatment and counteracting discrimination.
