Announcement 
of the Head of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology

on the deadlines for submission of NAWA mobility documents from the project: ‘IMPROVE – International Mission to Promote Research and Optimal Values in Education’, implemented under the STER NAWA programme, Task 2 “Crossing Borders and Horizons”, for the best doctoral candidates from Poland and abroad, pursuing their training at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology in the 2026/2027 academic year (2nd edition)

The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology and the International Cooperation Centre of Lodz University of Technology are pleased to announce the opening of applications for the best doctoral candidates from Poland and abroad, currently pursuing education at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, for NAWA mobility funding under the project: “IMPROVE”, implemented by Lodz University of Technology under the STER programme 
– Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools – Call for Applications 2024.

The project is implemented by Lodz University of Technology under an agreement with the National Agency for Academic Exchange and financed by NAWA.  The main objective of the Programme is to provide systematic support for the internationalisation of doctoral schools in every aspect of this process, i.e. ranging from the development of doctoral candidate mobility through the creation of an international dimension within the schools, cooperation with foreign partners, and the improvement of the quality of education, to building the international profile of the doctoral school and attracting international doctoral candidates.

Co-financing for the international mobility of the best doctoral candidates from Poland and abroad who are pursuing their training at a doctoral school may be provided, amongst other things, for: 
•    participation by doctoral candidates in scientific, research or training placements undertaken for the purpose of conducting scientific research or acquiring knowledge and skills relating to the conduct of scientific research at foreign scientific and research institutions, 
•    participation by doctoral candidates in artistic placements undertaken with the aim of pursuing artistic activities or acquiring knowledge and skills relating to the pursuit of artistic activities at artistic institutions abroad.

Mobility should be completed by 30.06.2027 at the latest
The duration of mobility is a minimum of 1 month (full 30 calendar days, including a total of two days for travel and return) or 2 months (full 60 calendar days).

The project will provide project participants with funding for: 
•    the cost of living and accommodation in a flat-rate amount (from PLN 4,000 to PLN 12,000 per month) depending on the country of departure 
and
•    the cost of travel (i.e. travel, insurance and visa) in a flat-rate amount (from PLN 1,000 to PLN 6,500) depending on the country of departure.

The application period for the second edition is scheduled to run from 1 April 2026 to 24 April 2026.
