Dear PhD Candidate,
Are you about to teach your first classes? Looking for ways to engage students, design meaningful learning experiences, create high-quality teaching materials, or make effective use of AI in higher education?
We are pleased to invite PhD students of Łódź University of Technology to participate in the training programme:
Getting Started in Academic Teaching: Designing Accessible, Digital, and Sustainable Learning Experiences
This hands-on, workshop-based training is designed for early-career academics and doctoral students who are beginning their teaching journey or would like to strengthen their teaching skills.
During the training, you will learn how to:
- design courses and classes based on learning outcomes,
- engage students through active learning methods,
- create attractive and accessible teaching materials using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles,
- effectively and responsibly use digital tools and artificial intelligence in teaching,
- integrate sustainability and sustainable development concepts into your courses,
- provide constructive feedback and use assessment to support student learning.
Practice First!
This training is highly practical. Throughout the programme, participants will work on developing or improving their own teaching scenario, lesson plan, or course design that can be directly implemented in their academic practice.
What You Will Gain
By the end of the training, you will be able to:
- design student-centred learning experiences,
- select appropriate teaching methods for different learning goals,
- apply accessibility and UDL principles in course design,
- make informed use of digital technologies and AI,
- incorporate sustainability perspectives into teaching,
- evaluate student learning and provide meaningful feedback.
