Recruitment mode: Regular doctorate

  • 29 August - 7 September 2023 - candidate registration through the admissions portal,
  • 29 August - 7 September 2023 (until 23:59 UTC +2:00) sending scans of required documents to the e-mail address: recruitment_ids@info.p.lodz.pl,
  • 20-27 September 2023 - interviews,
  • 30 September 2023 - publication of the results on the IDS TUL website.

It is possible to make changes to the schedule. All information will be published on the ISD TUL website on an ongoing basis.

Until September 30, 2023, the candidate is required to check the mailbox from which they sent the email with scans of the recruitment documents at least once a day, due to the possibility of receiving feedback on the submitted documents.

I. Candidate registration through the admissions portal

I. Candidate registration through the admissions portal

  1. Candidate registration for IDS TUL is conducted through Lodz University of Technology's admissions portal, available at https://e-rekrutacja.p.lodz.pl/info/.
  2. A candidate for IDS TUL registers in the admissions portal of Lodz University of Technology through:
  1. Creating an account on the portal,
  2. Filling out an application for admission to IDS TUL,
  3. Selecting one leading discipline in which the training program will be implemented at IDS TUL.
  1. The candidate generates the application in the system and signs it with their own signature; then sends a scan of it to the e-mail address: recruitment_ids@info.p.lodz.pl along with the other required document scans.
  2. In case of problems with registration through the portal, the Candidate is invited to contact IDS TUL office at the email address: recruitment_ids@info.p.lodz.pl

Application fee

The one-time, non-refundable application fee for processing the application is PLN 200. The fee is paid by payment by card or bank transfer to an individual bank account:

Title of payment: name, name of discipline, application fee to IDS TUL

When making payments from an account held in a currency other than PLN or with a card settled in a currency other than PLN, it is the responsibility of the candidate to apply the correct exchange rate as of the date of payment of the fee, so that the university account is credited with the amount in the correct amount. Any costs of currency conversions and other commissions, including fees of possible intermediary banks, shall be paid by the Candidate.

    1. Scans of the required documents should be sent within the period indicated in this schedule to the e-mail address: recruitment_ids@info.p.lodz.pl. Deadline for sending scans of documents:

for Regular Doctoral Candidates

September 7, 2023 (by 23:59 UTC +2:00)

    1. Recruitment documents referred to in 5 of Resolution No. 12/2023 of the Senate of Lodz University of Technology Lodz dated March 29, 2023 on the rules of admission to the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology in the academic year 2023/2024, should be attached to the email as separate scans and sent in one email to: recruitment_ids@info.p.lodz.pl

    1. A scan of a given document should include the candidate's name and the type of document in the name, as shown in the example below. Scans of translations of documents or documents legalized or with an apostille clause (required in the case referred to in 5(2) of the aforementioned resolution) should also be attached as separate files to the email sent by the candidate (the file name should indicate which document the translation or legalization/ apostille clause refers to).

    1. The e-mail sent to recruitment_ids@info.p.lodz.pl with all the required scans of documents should include the candidate's name and surname in the title, as well as the text "Nabór do ISD PŁ".

    1. Original documents sent at the recruitment stage will be required only from candidates who receive a positive result from the interview and will be conditionally qualified to IDS TUL.

    1. The original documents should be submitted to the office of the IDS TUL by the date indicated in 6 (5) of the aforementioned resolution in a white A4 size bound folder during the office opening hours for doctoral candidates of the IDS TUL, i.e.:

Monday - 10:00-12:00

Tuesday - 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday - closed

Thursday - 9:00-11:00 am

Friday - closed

    1. Candidates who have completed graduate (Master) education, but at the time of submission of the enrollment documents do not yet have a degree, submit with a certificate from the Dean's Office (or the University) of the grade "on the diploma". Candidates are asked to request such a certificate from their Dean's Office well in advance. The candidate is required to deliver the diploma immediately upon receipt.

  1. Detailed criteria for evaluating interviews are specified in Appendix 3 to the resolution indicated in 2 (2) of this schedule.
  2. The exact date of the interview (date, place and method of conducting, i.e., on-site/online) within each discipline will be published on the IDS TUL  website at a later date.

IV Results of the admission procedure

IV Results of the admission procedure

  1. The results of the qualification proceedings for each discipline will be published on the IDS TUL website.
  2. Pursuant to § 6 (6) of the resolution indicated in item 2 (2) of this schedule, a person admitted to IDS TUL begins their education and acquires the rights of a doctoral candidate upon taking the oath and signing the oath.

V Special provisions

Candidates with a disability or chronic disease

  1. The office of IDS TUL is accessible to people with disabilities (there is an elevator in the A33 building).
  2. Candidates with a disability or chronic illness, whose health condition prevents them from participating in the interview, shall submit an application (along with a justification) to the TUL Committee for Awarding Individual Support to Persons with Disabilities by July 28, 2023.

This requirement applies to both candidates applying for admission to IDS TUL as part of the MEiN's "Implementation Doctorate" program, as well as candidates applying for admission on a regular basis.

  1. The procedure and detailed rules for granting support are set out in the resolution indicated in 2 (2) of this schedule and in the "Regulations for granting individual support within the framework of the subject subsidy for tasks related to ensuring conditions for persons with disabilities to fully participate in the process of admission to university, doctoral schools, university and doctoral school education or scientific activity (Article 365 item 6 of the Law of July 20, 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws 2023, item 742) in force at Lodz university of Technology.

Referral for admission IDS TUL

  1. Persons referred to in Article 186 (2) of the Law of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 ), including beneficiaries of the "Diamond Grant" program, shall submit an application in accordance with the specimen specified in Appendix No. 2 to the resolution indicated in paragraph 2 (2) of this schedule - to the Chairman of the relevant Discipline Council no later than August 15, 2023.
  2. The application should include a description of the candidate's scientific achievements (in order to document the achievements, copies of materials confirming the aforementioned achievements should be attached to the application) and a positive opinion of the supervisor or the candidate's academic supervisor (applies to first cycle studies or long-cycle master's studies) and contact information, including the Candidate's e-mail address. 
  3. The Chairman of the Discipline Council shall, within 7 days from the date of receipt of the application, prepare a decision with justification and transmit it within this period to the Candidate by e-mail to the Candidate's e-mail address indicated in the application and to the office of the IDS TUL.
  4. The Candidate attaches the positive decision to the recruitment documents. A negative decision does not entitle the Candidate to participate in the IDS TUL admission process.

Selection of an academic supervisor from outside Lodz University of Technology

  1. It is permissible to choose an academic supervisor from outside TUL. In this situation, the Candidate submits an application for permission to choose an academic supervisor from outside TUL according to the specimen specified in Appendix No. 8 to the resolution indicated in 2 (2) of this schedule - to the Chairman of the relevant Discipline Council until August 15, 2023.
  2. The application shall include a justification, a list of scientific achievements and the scientific profile of the designated supervisor, as well as the e-mail address of the Candidate and the designated supervisor. The Candidate shall attach to the application a statement in accordance with the specimen set forth in Appendix 1 to the resolution indicated in 2 (2) of this schedule.
  3. The Chairman of the Discipline Council shall issue a recommendation (positive or negative) with justification within 7 days from the date of receipt of the application and transmit it to the Candidate within this period via e-mail to the Candidate's e-mail address indicated in the application and to the office of the IDS TUL.
  4. Candidate attaches a positive recommendation to the recruitment documents. In the case of a negative recommendation, the Candidate may request to choose another supervisor from outside TUL or to choose a supervisor from TUL, but in both cases within the required deadlines. Agreeing on the candidacy of an academic supervisor from outside of TUL or selecting an academic supervisor from TUL is a prerequisite for taking part in admission to the IDS TUL.
