We are proud to announce that Agnieszka Widz, a doctoral candidate at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology, conducting her research at the Institute of Mathematics within the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics, has been awarded a scholarship from the Creators’ Support Fund of the KOPIPOL Association. The scholarship is granted to doctoral students who demonstrate significant scientific achievements.

KOPIPOL – the Association for Collective Management of Copyright of Authors of Scientific and Technical Works – has for many years supported the development of science in Poland by protecting authors’ rights and financing initiatives that promote research dissemination. Through its Creators’ Support Fund, the association provides support for scientific publications, research projects, access to academic resources, as well as educational and conference initiatives.

Agnieszka’s research focuses on infinite random graphs and Fraïssé limits, examining how modifications of classical random models lead to the emergence of new universal mathematical structures. Her earlier work includes contributions to functional analysis, notably a co‑authored publication in the prestigious Journal of Functional Analysis, addressing relationships between the properties of Grothendieck and Nikodym.

In her scientific work, Agnieszka combines expertise in functional analysis with her current research direction in graph theory and mathematical logic, enabling her to formulate original questions and develop models with broad theoretical applications.

She is also actively involved in the organization of scientific events. She has co‑organized Matematyka Wszędzie Ukryta (2025), Matematyka Tworzy Innowacje (2025), and the 2nd Wrocław Logic Conference (2024). In May 2026, she will co‑organize the 4th Łódź Logic Conference, an international event expected to gather around 100 participants from Poland and abroad, organized by the Łódź Mathematicians’ Foundation and the FTIMS Faculty of Lodz University of Technology.

The scholarship recognizes Agnieszka’s achievements to date and provides support for the further development of her research.
