On 28.02.2026 the finals of the World Rowing Indoor Championships 2026 were held, to which two competitors from the Lodz University of Technology advanced:
Paulina Maślanka, assistant professor at the Faculty of Textile and Design, won 11th place in women's lightweight (and 4th place in the age category 23-39 years) at 5000m, reaching the time 20:39.1.
Tomasz Józefiak, PhD candidate at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School (mathematics), together with Konrad Raczyński in the relay at a distance of 1000m, took 4th place in the open men classification, with a time of 2:39.3, losing 2 seconds to the medal.
Paulina and Tomasz are medalists of the Academic Championships of Poland in Indoor Rowing.

This year’s edition turned out to be the greatest in history – over 2300 athletes from 72 countries competed on 3 distances: 1min, 1000m and 5000m.
