Announcement
of the Director of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at Lodz University of Technology
dated 21 October 2025

on the organisation of data management training – 1st edition,
implemented as part of the project entitled: „IMPROVE - International Mission for the Promotion of Research
and Optimal Values in Education’
under the STER NAWA programme,

task 5 ‘A modern approach to scientific tasks in an international environment,
- opportunities, challenges, risks’,

 

     The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at TUL invites participants to enrol in a free data management training course dedicated to doctoral candidates studying at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at TUL.

As part of the training, participants will gain practical skills in identifying, organising and securely storing data in a digital environment. They will learn the basics of data use in a digital environment and the principles of data management in line with international FAIR standards (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable). The training will conclude with the preparation of an individual Data Management Plan – a document detailing how data will be generated, processed and shared as part of the doctoral programme.

Basic information:

  • one group of 20 participants,
  • duration of the workshop: 8 teaching hours (45 minutes each) in a classroom setting,
  • training date - 18 November 2025,
  • on-site training at the Main Library of Lodz University of Technology,
  • possibility to participate in the training with own laptops,
  • after completing the training, each participant will receive a certificate of participation; the training is conducted in accordance with the principles of equal treatment and accessibility, taking into account the needs of persons with disabilities

A doctoral candidate may become a participant of the course if they:

  1. Are currently enrolled in the IDS TUL (i.e. their education has not been suspended at the IDS TUL pursuant to Article 204(3) of the Act and §10 of the IDS TUL Regulations) and hold the status of a doctoral candidate on the day of the training course.
  2. Are highly motivated to develop and acquire skills in data management.
  3. Commit to participating in the entire training, i.e. 8 teaching hours.
  4. Commit to completing the required project documentation.

Recruitment will be take place in line with the principles of equal access and non-discrimination. Applications will be accepted via an online form between 24 and 30 October 2025 available at:

If the number of applications exceeds the available places, admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • The schedule may be subject to change. Updates will be published regularly on the IDS TUL website.
  • If all places are not filled during the first recruitment round, a supplementary round will be held. Should the number of applicants exceed the available limit, a reserve list will be created.


The project is implemented by Lodz University of Technology under an agreement with the National Agency for Academic Exchange and financed by NAWA funds.
