Institute of Organic Chemistry Chemistry of natural compounds, namely peptide chemistry. Properties of the cell-penetrating peptides, in particular eukaryotic and bacterial cells. The main objective is to design and obtain the conjugate of cell penetrating peptide with an antibiotic; the final conjugate should be able to penetrate to the intracellular pathogens, in particular bacterial cells colonizing the human urinary tract. The main features of the resulting conjugate should be: releasing the cargo (antibiotic) inside bacterial cells, resistance to proteolytic enzymes, and lack of immunogenicity.
